As an affiliate, I was selling a scrapbook book club membership via PPC on Google Adwords. By buying cheap clicks (ie I did research to find longtail keywords with low CPCs), I was able to break even – despite my useless affiliate manager never installing my tracking pixel, and despite Google’s search partners selling me bullshit traffic. FInding longtail keywords via niche keyword research is excellent.
