Top Search Engine Position
Getting a top search engine position for your website makes a huge difference. Studies by SearchLightDigital have shown that over 89% of people who use a search engine never go past page one.
So your website must be on Google page one for your search terms.
To many small business people, getting a top search engine listing seems like either a DREAM or a MYSTERY.
Probably both, actually.
However… when you understand what’s involved with SEO (search engine optimization), it is just a matter of doing what it takes.
And I know what it takes.

Local Business Woman Now On First Page of Google
In Sydney there is a French lady who teaches adults to speak the French language. Some years ago, she had a friend of a friend create a site for her at http://www.frenchafternoontea.alturl.com and people who saw the site liked it.
Trouble was… hardly anybody found it, unless they had heard about it from somebody.
Result was… virtually NO search engine traffic.
That was the case until very recently. One afternoon, I was in our local supermarket checkout queue and got chatting to the lady in front of me. Her name was Danielle and something she said made me realize that she probably worked for herself. I said that I did too.
She told me about her French school and I explained that I could probably help her get more customers via the internet. Naturally she gave me her business card…
A few days after Danielle engaged my services, links to her site were already showing on Google page one. This was not for ONE of her main search terms, but SEVERAL of them.
And this was despite the fact that I did not have access to her website’s control panel to make needed changes to the code. These pleasing results were achieved ENTIRELY by my backlinking program.
Naturally she was totally EXCITED when she emailed me and said… “You are a genius”. Here’s a shot from the email…
Later she mailed me a thank you card which says…

For a long time, I tried to get my business on Internet, in vain.
It was just a matter of a few days for my site to be referenced on the first page of Google, thanks to you. I would never have dreamt of that.

Here is a screenshot taken just now (2 June 2009) from page one of Google for her primary keyphrase. She will now be readily found for this search term — and for many other search terms which I wont bother to go into here.

| Update: Here’s how it’s going 2 months later. Screenshot taken 9 Aug 2009. Danielle’s site is #1 and my sites occupy the top 4 positions on her behalf plus one more further down the page. NOTE: Her site has a #1 listing despite the totally irrelevant text which Google has picked up from the way her original webmaster set the site up. Regrettably I had no access to change that text or the site. Nevertheless, I was able to place her in the #1 position for her #1 search term — and it’s sticking.  |
